Motor controller has been used in traditional automobile's on-board motor. Through power semiconductor, microprocessor and other power electronic devices, the function of adjusting and controlling automotive air-conditioning compressor, steering boost pump motor, etc. is achieved by using low and medium voltage frequency conversion.As a device to control the drive motor of an electric vehicle, the motor controller of an electric vehicle receives control information from the vehicle controller and the control mechanism (brake pedal, throttle pedal, shift mechanism), controls the speed, torque and turn of the drive motor, and controls the output of the power battery accordingly.
 
At present, some "multi-in-one" electronic products have been put into use in electric vehicles, while integrating the traditional discrete air compressor, steering boost pump motor, air pump motor controller, and BSG/ISG motor used in hybrid vehicle models.With the wide application of microchip in vehicle and assembly control, the cost of multi-in-one electronic control products is expected to further reduce, and single controller will be gradually replaced by integrated "vehicle central controller".
