Necessity and principle of air purification in bus2021-05-07
Air pollutants in buses are characterized by wide sources, many kinds and long emission cycle.
The air purifier of bus is an effective means to control indoor and interior air pollution, and the air purifier filter net as the core component has been the key and difficult point of development. The principles, advantages and disadvantages of various purification technologies are expounded: activated carbon chemical filter material has strong adsorption. Activated carbon is a kind of porous carbonaceous material with highly developed pore structure and large surface area (the adsorption area per gram of high-quality activated carbon products is even equivalent to as many as eight tennis courts), and has strong adsorption capacity. Industrial production of activated carbon can be made from a variety of carbonaceous substances, including natural plants (bamboo, wood, coconut shell, etc.) and minerals (coal, coke, etc.). Activated carbon made from different raw materials has different pore size. Activated carbon with large pore size is used for liquid phase (water, etc.) purification. For air adsorption in buses, activated carbon products with smaller pore size (such as coconut shell) made from plant raw materials should be selected.
It is worth noting that if activated carbon purification products only rely on physical adsorption method, the adsorbed pollutants are easily affected by temperature and air flow speed, and may dissociate to form secondary pollution. Therefore, some activated carbon products will add chemical substances that can effectively degrade organic gas to realize the combination of physical adsorption and chemical adsorption, The purification of toxic and harmful gases is more reliable. However, activated carbon purification products also have the disadvantages of slow purification speed and secondary pollution after adsorption saturation.
