Car HVAC system to ensure uniformity of air reaching the evaporator surface2022-01-26
The car HVAC system must ensure the uniformity of the air reaching the surface of the evaporator, so as to obtain a stable wind speed, but the wind speed through the evaporator should not be too large, otherwise the condensed water on the surface of the evaporator will be blown out, which is absolutely not allowed of. Generally, the maximum wind speed allowed by the evaporator: when the fin spacing is 1.4mm, the maximum wind speed cannot exceed 2.5m/s; but when the fin spacing is 1.7mm, the maximum wind speed cannot exceed 3m/s, especially at the bottom of the evaporator. Important because this part of the evaporator contains a lot of condensed water.
The evaporator is required to have good thermal balance. The surrounding area of the evaporator should be sealed with sponge, otherwise the surrounding hot air will leak in, which will reduce the thermal balance of the outlet air. The following is the temperature distribution of a Valeo evaporator, The air volume is 600kg/h, the ambient temperature is 30°C, and the ambient humidity is 60%.
